She is MA in Sanskrit. But she without pursuing her knowledge of Sanskrit opted for remaining as a housewife now. But she is a good singer of Rabindrasangeet ( Tagore song). She was once a student of Subinay Roy, the great teacher of Rabindrasangeet.
Daughter: Rai Sengupta (25)
She is a BSc with honourse in Mathematics from St. Xaviers College, Kolkata. By profession she is a RJ in Power FM. She sings, writes and speaks well.

- Hold the position of State Public Information Officer of the Water Investigation and Development Department, Government of West Bengal
- Worked as the In Charge of the Data Processing , Storage and Retreival Wing of the State Water Investigation Directorate, Government of West Bengal
- Honorary member faculty of water resources in School of Fundamental Research, Kolkata for last ten years.

- Worked as activist and mentor in mass awareness for water resource conservation and environmental awareness with many NGO’s ( fifteen years)

- Resource person in a project named application of Geo-informatics in local level planning- Projects funded by NRDMS, DST, Govt. of India
- Principal mentor of People’ GIS software developed during Year of Scientific Awareness 2004
